Their works are published (26 books published in 1996 including translations, lectures, handbooks, editions, studies and articles), or presented in national and international conferences. The Faculty issues several yearly scientific periodicals: Analele Universitii de Vest din Timi}oara, Studii de Literature Romano Comparate, Cercetari Lingvistice, Studii de Limbi }i Literaturi Moderne, Studii de Istorie a Banatului, Slavik Languages, Dialogues Francophones etc. The Faculty has a large number of partnership and joint programs with universities in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary, Serbia, USA, Poland. Faculty of Sociology and Psychology The Faculty was established in 1991. At first it functioned within the Faculty of Economics, afterwards since 1993 it became autonomous. Seria sociologie si psihologie Faculty of Physical Education and Sports The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1960 in the frame of the Pedagogical Institute of Timisoara. Between 1968 and 1984 the faculty functioned, with a duration of study of 3 years, within the University of Timisoara. In 1984, together with the other faculties who had the 3-year study program, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was abolished; This had a negative influence on the entire sport life in the Western part of the country, concerning both, teaching and research. Starting with 1990 the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports functioned as a section of the Faculty of Letters, Philosophy and History of the West University Timisoara, with a duration of study of 4 years.
