Accommodation | The most effective way to improve language development outside the School environment is to reside with one of BBSI's carefully selected host families. All BBSI host-families reside within either walking distance or a short bus journey from the School. The accommodation includes breakfast and dinner daily with the family, Monday to Friday, with all meals provided at weekends. Standard accommodation is GBP 85.00 per week and executive accommodation is GBP 160.00 per week. Executive accommodation includes ensuite or sole use of bathroom facilities. |
Admission requirements | The minimum language level requirement for any student wishing to study at BBSI is Elementary. The minimum age is 18 years. |
Student profile |
BBSI has a varied mixture of nationalities. The percentages vary from week to week and the School mixes the nationalities within the classes as much as possible. At present some of the nationalities represented are Libyan, United Arab Emirates, Russian, Uzbek, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Albanian, Turkish, German, Hungarian, Mexican and Venezuelan. In the summer months the School attracts more European students. The age range of the students is from 18 to 55 years at present. |

The fees at BBSI vary between GBP 125.00 per week for 20 tutored lessons of General English and GBP205 per week for 30 tutored lessons of International Business English Certificate, Higher Certificate and Diploma programmes are available from GBP 180.00 per week for 24 tutored lessons. |

BBSI offers the following wide range of flexible options in its training programmes: a. Short Courses. The short courses at BBSI are designed for people who cannot spare a lot of time away from other commitments, such as employment, professional or vocational training. Courses are of 2-12 weeks' duration in the following: * General English * English with IELTS & Academic Study Skills * English with IT Skills * Communications & Business Skills b. Certificate, Higher Certificate, Diploma and University Foundation Programmes. Courses of longer duration at BBSI include Certificate, Higher Certificate, Diploma and University Foundation Programmes. The courses are of 12, 24 and 36 weeks' duration respectively, and are NCFE and City & Guilds accredited. Where applicable, the management elements of these courses comprise modular elements accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). On completion of these management modules BBSI offers trainees free assessment and discounted assessed-grade membership to CMI. The courses are structured to provide a balanced proportion of theoretical, academic, practical and functional content, and the CMI modular elements accrue credits towards a first degree at university. Founded in 1992, Bournemouth Business School International (BBSI) provides high-quality, practical academic, vocational and professional training to international students. The School is open throughout the year and prides itself in providing a learning environment with a correct balance in emphasis between training ethos and social atmosphere. The primary aim of the School is to enhance individuals' English-language communication skills in the context of personal, academic, vocational and professional development programmes. The School employs innovative learning methods and techniques that are designed to build confidence in individuals and achieve optimum results. The School is situated in the centre of Bournemouth and occupies 2 prominent and adjoining Victorian town-centre buildings. School capacity is around 350 students, and facilities include 2 fully-networked IT Multi-Media centres with free access to the internet, a laptop room, library and Student Common Room, which offers satellite television and refreshment facilities. All facilities are available weekly between 08:30 and 17:00. Bournemouth is a vibrant, cosmopolitan town on the south coast of England, within easy reach of London, Heathrow and Gatwick. As a tourist town Bournemouth attracts visitors from Britain and abroad with the 7 miles of sandy beaches, beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside. The town offers a wide range of quality entertainment with cinemas, theatres, nightclubs, restaurants and shops to cater for all tastes. A full social programme is offered at BBSI with a mixture of evening and weekend activities. Day trips are organised to places of interest such as Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath and Portsmouth. Sports activities are very popular with choices of football, volleyball, ice skating, skittles etc. Student parties are arranged on a regular basis to encourage students to mix, and in the summer months these are often on the beach. |
